Malahayati is a database assistant for WRI Indonesia's program in Aceh. She is responsible for providing technical and operational aspects in implementing the plan, providing database management, facilitating data collection and information, as well as data collection and verification in the field including research activities, assisting and organizing events, and engagement related to the implementation of the enhancing community forest tenure & sustainable livelihoods in the prioritized sites and districts. She also responsible for assisting the South Sumatera and Aceh Senior program Lead in monitoring, reporting and data management for regional Aceh, as well as organizing and facilitating periodic reviews, monitoring activities, and ensure that the project delivers its targeted outputs and outcomes.


Mala is one of the alumni of Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, majoring in Biology, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Since childhood, she has loved nature and likes things that smell of nature, such as camping activities, caring about environmental hygiene issues, to conservation activities. 

Prior to joining WRI, Mala worked in NGOs related to education and health. Although the field of work undertaken at that time was different from the scientific field owned, but she could adapt quickly to the new environment. Her hobbies are traveling, hiking and loving to learn the culture of a new place she visited.
